Research description: I have a PhD in biological anthropology from Ohio State University. My research focuses on how the social world becomes embodied and expressed as health, illness or suffering. The motivation for my work stems from a concern for social justice. My courses incorporate theoretical and practical applications from the social sciences and human biology to address health disparities and inequities. The geographic focus of my work in is the urban US and sub-Saharan Africa.
